It will be a few days and Valentine’s Day is here. For those who want to give their loved ones a different gift, do try these delicious and sumptuous Valentine’s recipe that we have compiled for your pleasure. Your loved one would surely appreciate the time and effort that you made.
This delicious recipe is easy to make. Simply mix 1 ½ cup honey for every ounce of breadcrumbs. Add 1 ½ cup of milk, 11/1 tbsp. of ginger, 2 egg yolks and some grated lemon rinds. Mix all of the ingredients together then add2 tbsp. of butter with the egg whites well beaten. Place ¾ of the batter in a pudding mould and steam for 2 hours.
Place half of the chocolate bar in 1 quarts of milk, cook the chocolate until it melts then remove it from the cooking range. Add 4 tsp. of cornstarch with 3 egg yolks and 1 ½ cup of sugar. Return to the fire and stir the batter until it turns thick. Remove the batter from the fire and add your favourite flavourings. Place the mixture in a dish. In another bowl, place the egg whites from the 3 eggs and beat until it is stiff froth. Add a bit of sugar. Place the meringue on top of the pudding and place in the oven until the pudding turns brown. Cool it before serving.
This recipe is great for those who have leftover biscuits or bread at home. Simply get 2 cups of the stale biscuits and add 1 cup of milk cream. Beat five eggs until it is soft and light. Add 1tsp. of soda to boiling water and place 1 cup of jam or marmalade to the boiling water. Scald the milk and pour to the stale biscuit. Beat the mixture until it is half-cold then add the beaten yolks, whites and the soda to the mixture. Fill ¾ of the cup with the mixture and bake for ½ hour. Once done, remove the pudding from the cups, with a knife open a slit at the side of the pudding, and add the cream inside. Slowly close the slit by pinching the edges. Add sweetened cream to the pudding before serving.
Apple Custard Pudding
Apple custard pudding is one of my favourite and it is healthy too! First step is to put a quartered apple into a stew pan. Ensure that the apples are pared already. Add ½ cup of water and cook until the apples are soft. Remove from the fire and add ½ cup of sugar, grated lemon rind and 2 tbsp. of butter and set aside. Mix 2 cups of grated breadcrumbs with 2 tbsp. of flour. Once mixed well, add to the apple mixture and stir two well-beaten eggs. Place the mixture in a dish and bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and add sugar or cream.
Ingredients for this pudding recipe include 1 tin of apricot, ½ pint of milk, 6 sponge cakes and 2 eggs. Place the apricots in a saucepan and let simmer for half an hour. Add a little sugar to caramelize the sauce. After, beat the mix with a fork, add the crumbled sponge cakes and set aside. Beat the eggs with the milk well and pour it on top of the apricots. Wet the mould to prevent the mixture from sticking. Bake the pudding for half an hour. Turn out of the mould and serve either hot or cold.
Easy as a pie. Get 3 to 4 pieces of carrots, boil them and peel off the skin. Mash the carrot and add breadcrumbs, 6 eggs and ½ pound of clarified butter. Add also 2 to 3 tbsp. of rose water, lemon rinds, dash of nutmeg and mix. Place the mixture to a dish and bake it. For the sauce, add together a little wine with butter and sugar.
Valentine’s Day starts with a hearty breakfast with this cheese pudding. Melt 1 piece of butter (size of a large egg) to 1 cup of milk until the butter melts. Pour the batter into ¾ quarters of breadcrumbs and ½ pound of grated cheese. Soak for 20 minutes and then add a pinch of salt and 4 well-beaten eggs. Place the mixture into a well-buttered dish and bake for 40 minutes.
Date pudding is perfect for those who want something different from the regular puddings. Ingredients include butter, molasses, milk, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and dates. Melt about 3 tbsp. of butter, add 1 ½ cup of molasses, 1 ½ milk, 1 2/3 cup of shifted flour, ½ tsp. of baking soda and ¼ tsp. of salt, ¼ tsp. of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg to the mixture. Mix the mixture well and then add ½ pound of dates. Place the mixture into a pudding mould. Spread the butter over the cover and cook for 2 ½ hours.
